Psychotherapy and Counselling sessions for Adults (aged 18+)

Therapy with Ashling

Hello, my name is Ashling.

I am a warm and down-to-earth psychotherapist passionate about helping people overcome the challenges they have experienced or are experiencing in their lives. I am registered with the BACP, which means that I am bound by their Ethical Principles, committing to confidentiality procedures and regular continuing professional development.

Who do I work with?

I work with people dealing with anxiety, depression, disordered eating, relationship/family issues, workplace issues, grief and low self-esteem. However, I am interested in working with the person rather than the 'issue' and have the skills to work with a variety of different people from different backgrounds.

How do I work?

I work integratively, which basically means that I use different approaches and techniques to support you as a unique individual.

By exploring and integrating all the different aspects of you, we can build awareness, compassion and acceptance to develop a stronger sense of self.

It's important that we build a positive therapeutic relationship, as this is often the most impactful element of therapy and what creates a lasting change. This is why I offer a 20 minute free consultation to see if we could work well together.

We can work together face to face or online, on a short or longer term basis.

Why work with me?

Having had my own experience with therapy, I know how huge it is to start this journey and how uncomfortable it is to be vulnerable with someone new. However, after experiencing profound loss, change and challenge in my life, I found seeking therapy to be transformative. It helped me move past that feeling of being stuck and see things from a different perspective. These life experiences really help me connect and empathise with people on a deeper level.

Working with me, you will get a genuine and an honest person who works with integrity and compassion.

From our very first session, I felt completely at ease with Ashling, which made it easy to build up the trust required for an effective therapeutic partnership. Ashling has a calm, matter-of-fact demeanour which immediately puts you at ease, making it really easy to open up and discuss the important stuff. Within half a dozen sessions, we’d worked through some unhelpful habits and negative thought patterns and charted a clear pathway out of a very dark and difficult period. Ashling combines quiet, unflappable confidence and an unflinching determination to address mental health challenges with a gentle, compassionate and deeply empathic approach.
