Therapy with Ashling
Psychotherapy and Counselling sessions for Adults (aged 18+)
Hello, I’m Ashling — a warm, down-to-earth psychotherapist here to support you in finding your way back to yourself.
So much of my work centres around rebuilding self-worth. Therapy with me is a space to reconnect with who you are — gently, and at your own pace.
I work with people who are navigating low self-esteem, co-dependency, and a deep sense of disconnection from their own needs, voice, or identity. Together, we create a space to untangle what’s been weighing you down — and rebuild the connection to your self-worth, your boundaries, and the life you want to live.
I’m a BACP-registered integrative psychotherapist offering therapy in London and online. If you're ready to explore what’s going on beneath the surface, I’d love to support you.
If this resonates with you, you’re very welcome to reach out for a free 20-minute consultation to see if we might be a good fit.

Who I Work With

I work with people who feel like they’ve lost themselves — often after a relationship breakdown, a big life change, or years of putting others first. You might struggle with low self-esteem, people-pleasing, or a deep sense of disconnection from who you are and what you want.

These feelings can show up as:

-
Anxiety or overthinking
-
Difficulty setting boundaries
-
Feeling stuck in repeated relationship patterns
-
Grief, loss of identity, or emotional overwhelm
-
A quiet but persistent sense that something isn’t right

You don’t need a formal diagnosis or to be in crisis to begin therapy. If you’re feeling lost, low, or unsure of your place in your own life, that’s enough. Therapy can help you reconnect to your worth and begin to rebuild a stronger sense of self.

My Approach

I work integratively, which means I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches depending on what best supports you. This includes relational, psychodynamic, humanistic and body-aware methods — but at the heart of it is you.

Together, we’ll explore the parts of you that have been silenced, minimised, or pushed aside. We’ll begin to understand the patterns that are no longer serving you, and slowly start to build something new — grounded in self-awareness, boundaries, compassion and choice.
I believe that real change happens in the context of a safe, trusting relationship. That’s why I offer a free 20-minute consultation — so we can get a feel for each other and see if it feels like a good fit.
Where do I work?
-
Online therapy via Google Meet
-
In-person sessions in Surbiton Area (currently waitlist only)
-
Outdoor therapy – walking sessions in local green spaces, for those who find it easier to connect in nature (currently waitlist only)

Outdoor therapy can be especially powerful for those feeling stuck, disconnected, or emotionally shut down. Nature offers a gentle, non-judgemental space to reconnect with your inner world, without the intensity of sitting face-to-face in a room. If this interests you, I’d be happy to explore it with you further.

From our very first session, I felt completely at ease with Ashling, which made it easy to build up the trust required for an effective therapeutic partnership. Ashling has a calm, matter-of-fact demeanour which immediately puts you at ease, making it really easy to open up and discuss the important stuff. Within half a dozen sessions, we’d worked through some unhelpful habits and negative thought patterns and charted a clear pathway out of a very dark and difficult period. Ashling combines quiet, unflappable confidence and an unflinching determination to address mental health challenges with a gentle, compassionate and deeply empathic approach.
